Life Happens

Be sure to not just work, but to live your life. My father is undergoing cancer surgery to remove a tumor today. I just got word that things are going well. The tumor is out and they are putting him back together.

He's always been there, and thinking about the possibility of him NOT being there has been difficult to even imagine. We share so many personality traits, as well as preferences. We're in the same profession, so even though he's retired, he loves to talk shop.

At 70, he's more tech-savvy than most people in their 30-40's, and is often the first to bring me news of some great new computer software or gadget.

I'm very happy it looks like he'll recover completely, but am using the experience to remind myself that I need to look beyond the walls of my workplace more often. (I'm sure you do too!)

Share some time with your family this holiday season - it'll do you good even if it drives you crazy!

Check out my new addition - my LibraryThing collection. If you're a reader, you'll enjoy turning your book collection into your own personal online library! It's fun and easy.

Happy holidays! Dave
